Thousands of people get online every single day and start out on a journey to make money online. The sad part is that more than half of them will fail miserably. I believe that there are two main reasons for this high rate of failure regardless of whether it is MLM (network marketing), affiliate marketing or marketing one’s own product.

The first reason that people’s efforts to earn money online fail is that they think they can just jump online, throw a simple website up promoting a product and just watch hundreds of dollars land in their account every day. They fail to realize that making money online is a business and requires real effort to succeed.

To be successful online, you will have to put in some work. That would seem obvious but many people actually do think that earning money online is effortless. As a successful entrepreneur myself, I can tell you that it takes one’s own efforts to be successful online even it one outsources a lot of the work. Don’t be drawn in by all of these gurus promising you riches overnight. It doesn’t work that way. You will have to set aside at least an hour a day to do tasks that will help your online business be successful. Are there people making millions a month online? Absolutely, but they are making that kind of money because they are putting in the time and effort needed to do so.

So when you see a website promising you riches overnight with no real effort on your part, run in the other direction as fast as you can. The only thing that will happen buying that advice is that you will have made the product owner or affiliate some money while you just threw yours away.

The second reason I believe most people fail is because they don’t invest in the proper training. There is a huge learning curve when it comes to making money online. One of the quickest ways for you to go from zero to money in the bank is by investing in some sort of training or mentor program that will show you exactly what other people are doing to successfully generate money online. A simple e-book or video is not going to provide you with the information you will require to succeed online.

Once you gain this knowledge, continue to expand upon it. Then put the knowledge you have gained into your marketing efforts. If you are serious about making money online, I suggest you find a good coaching program and get all the knowledge you can. Once you get that knowledge then implement it and soon you will find that your marketing efforts are putting money into the bank for you. Its not unheard of for people to make $10,000 or more their first month. Will you be one of them?
